Profiled: Pizzeria Defina

The team at Pizzeria Defina will be the first to admit that they aren’t a traditional pizzeria, and that’s what sets them apart from the pack. A variety of seasonal, high quality ingredients are tossed into the mix of their dishes on a frequent basis and unlike many pizzerias they welcome your modifications.




Residing in a warm and friendly space in the picturesque Roncesvalles, their rugged interior paired with an elegant flare makes for a cozy dining experience. Pop a squat on one of their iron bar stools, sit back, relax and enjoy the show – we must say that their pizza tossing game is some of the finest we’ve seen, and the smell of that wood-burning pizza oven will likely make you never want to get up and leave.

In addition to their creative menu, their craft beer selection is also a noteworthy reason to hit this hot spot up. With various deals popping up each night, from a pizza and a pint for $15 to a craft beer tasting, Pizzeria Defina has something to offer for everybody.

We were lucky enough to get a taste of some of the hottest dishes on their menu, and we couldn’t be happier to share our experience with everyone!

The Red Hot Chili Pepper – SM tomato sauce, fior di latte, chorizo, sopressata, jalapeno peppers, chili pepper flakes, oregano

Caprese – SM tomatoes, fior di latte, arugula, bufala, tomatoes, grana padano, basil

Pumba – wild boar meatballs, SM tomato sauce, fior di latte, mushrooms, grana padano, caramelized shallots, garlic, oregano
