New Hot Spot: Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake
The smell of freshly baked cheesecake has not stopped at Uncle Tetsu on the corner of Bay and Dundas since last Wednesday. Neither has the line. This wildly popular Asian chain is giving Toronto it’s first taste of the cult classic. Japanese cheesecakes are less dense and less sweet than its American counterpart and Uncle Tetsu’s is extra fluffy, making it almost too easy for a single person to finish a 6-inch pie.
Uncle Tetsu himself is in town, taking selfies with customers and helping the staff bake fresh batches of cheesecake. With the weather warming up, the lines are not going to get shorter any time soon.
How long are you willing to wait for cheesecake?
Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake is open daily between 11am to 11pm, and is located on 598 Bay St. (just north of Dundas).
